Why? Due to the intricate detail and timing of conservation work, we can only see clients who have arranged a specific appointment in advance. Weekday appointments are preferred. Evening and weekend appointments may be available, if necessary.
Before making an appointment to consider treatment options and estimated cost, you should research the value of the book or paper item you want to treat to be sure it is worth the cost of restoring it. Of course, value is not just monetary or market driven. If an item has sentimental value, or is part of a unique collection, then it is worth the cost to preserve it rather than replace it.
At your appointment, we provide up to a half hour consultation for free. If additional time is needed for examination, testing, or consulting, we bill at our $75 per hour rate, but waive this fee if you proceed with the work.
