Gadfly Book & Paper Conservation
We specialize in the conservation and restoration of books, documents, prints, and works of art on paper.
As of January, 2010, we are not accepting new clients, but please check this site in the future to see if we are ready to take on new work.
Gadfly Book & Paper Conservation provides museum quality conservation treatments to stabilize, restore, and preserve books and paper artifacts that are damaged, deteriorated, or too fragile to use. Our clients include libraries, museums, churches, framers, rare book dealers, and individuals.
We are happy to offer advice, show examples of treatments, and help you understand what can be done to preserve your documents, books, and works of art on paper depending on their value and intended use.
We take as much care with family keepsakes and genealogy records as we do with rare materials from museums and libraries.
Time and again we have taken on difficult jobs and unusual formats requiring creative solutions, and have rescued materials that appeared to be hopelessly damaged.
The reward of a skillful conservation treatment is knowing that a damaged or unusable book or paper item has been saved from falling apart or being thrown away, and that you have helped preserve a part of our historical and visual heritage.
